« 19” est une performance scénique multidisciplinaire qui aborde, par le biais de moyens audiovisuels, des thèmes comme la survie, le passing, la marginalisation, l’argent, l’âge et la construction de son identité.
La performance interroge les notions de normes, de genre, de corps, de statut social et de privilèges. “19” a comme but de raconter et de partager la perception de ses thèmes et sa propre narration.
« A travers les scènes, je souhaite raconter ce que ça veut dire d’être quelqu’un comme moi et d’avoir 19 ans à notre époque : ce que ça représente de beau, de compliqué, de fort, d’épuisant et de satisfaisant. Je pense que j’ai besoin de faire ce que je fais dans la performance pour garder une trace de mon présent, de mes attentes et pour continuer mon chemin personnel et artistique. Comme les thèmes que j’aborde sont encore vues comme sensibles et que je souhaite éviter de m’exposer à de la violence, des couches d’imaginaire et de distance sont intégrées dans la performance. Je pense me sentir prêt et à l’aise pour montrer ma performance au public. » (Alex Arman).

« 19 » is a multidisciplinary stage performance that uses audiovisual means to address themes such as survival, passing, marginalisation, money, age and identity construction.
The performance questions notions of norms, gender, body, social status and privilege. « 19 » aims to tell and share Alex’s own narrative and perception of these themes.
« Through the scenes, I want to tell what it means to be someone like me and to be 19 in this day and age: what it means to be beautiful, complicated, strong, exhausting and fulfilling. I think I need to do what I do in a performance to keep track of my present, of my expectations and to continue my personal and artistic path. As the themes I deal with are still seen as sensitive and I want to avoid exposing myself to violence, layers of imagination and distance are built into the performance. I think I feel ready and comfortable to show my performance to the public » (Alex Arman).

« 19 » is een multidisciplinaire podiumvoorstelling die met audiovisuele middelen thema’s aansnijdt als overleven, ‘passing’, marginalisatie, geld, leeftijd en identiteitsconstructie.
De voorstelling bevraagt begrippen als normen, gender, lichaam, sociale status en privilege. « 19 » wil Alex’ eigen perceptie en narratief van deze thema’s delen.
« Via de scènes wil ik vertellen wat het betekent om iemand als ik te zijn en om 19 te zijn in deze tijd: wat het betekent om mooi, ingewikkeld, sterk, uitputtend en bevredigend te zijn. Ik denk dat ik wat ik in de voorstelling doe, nodig heb om mijn heden en mijn verwachtingen in het oog te houden en mijn persoonlijke en artistieke weg voort te zetten. Omdat de thema’s die ik behandel nog steeds als gevoelig worden beschouwd en ik wil vermijden dat ik me blootstel aan geweld, zijn er lagen van verbeelding en afstand in de voorstelling ingebouwd. Ik denk dat ik me klaar en comfortabel voel om mijn optreden aan het publiek te tonen” (Alex Arman)
