“Ecolo ? What ?” Construct ecologist and decolonial narratives

“Ecolo what? is a workshop about the link between ecology and cultural identity.

Francine proposes to (re)put the realities of black and racialised people at the centre of ecological issues and to exchange on our individual and collective ecological practices. The ambition of this workshop is to support minority communities to reclaim the term “ecology”.

Francine is a Brussels-based circular economy practitioner and social justice activist. She divides her time between her work in the reuse economy and her independent activities as a sustainability consultant. Her definition of sustainable development is the defence of the environment and people, especially marginalised populations. One of her missions is to push sustainable development actors to consider the fight against social inequalities as essential as the fight against climate change.
