« Quel que soit le tyDans cet atelier nous écouterons Clémentine, une habitante d’Esneux qui a vu le camping où elle habite submergé par les flots, ainsi que Laurélie, déployée dans la province de Liège par la Croix-Rouge pour aider les personnes touchées par les inondations.

Nous analyserons les manières dont les différentes classes sociales sont impactées par cette crise sociale et environnementale; nous discuterons de la réponse des communautés et des réseaux de soutiens informels qui ont fleurit dans toute la province; nous étudierons les risques lié à l’aide humanitaire et à la récupération politique de ce type de désastre climatique; et nous réfléchirons collectivement à comment se préparer pour les prochains.

Le tout sera modéré par Julie, membre de la même équipe que Laurélie à la Croix-Rouge et du collectif derrière le Climate Justice Camp.

Stories of the floods in Wallonia : Coping with an ecological disaster

What can we learn from the response of authorities, citizens, NGOs to such a disaster? Who was impacted and how?

In this workshop we will listen to Clementine, a resident of Esneux who saw the campsite where she lives submerged by the floods, as well as Laurélie, dispatched in the province of Liège by the Red Cross to help people affected by the floods.

We will analyze the ways in which different social classes are impacted by this social and environmental crisis; we will discuss the response of communities and informal support networks that have flourished throughout the province; we will explore the risks of humanitarian aid and the political recuperation of this type of climate disaster; and we will collectively reflect on how to prepare for the next.

All of this will be moderated by Julie, a member of the same team as Laurélie at the Red Cross and of the collective behind Climate Justice Camp.

In deze workshop zullen we luisteren naar Clémentine, een inwoonster van Esneux die zag hoe de camping waar ze woont door de overstromingen onder water kwam te staan, en Laurélie, die door het Rode Kruis in de provincie Luik is ingezet om mensen te helpen die door de overstromingen zijn getroffen.

We zullen de manieren analyseren waarop verschillende sociale klassen door deze sociale en milieucrisis worden getroffen; we zullen het hebben over de reactie van de gemeenschap en de informele ondersteuningsnetwerken die in de hele provincie zijn opgebloeid; we zullen kijken naar de risico’s van humanitaire hulp en het politieke herstel van dit soort klimaatrampen; en we zullen collectief nadenken over hoe we ons kunnen voorbereiden op de volgende.

Dit alles zal worden gemodereerd door Julie, lid van hetzelfde team als Laurélie bij het Rode Kruis en van het collectief achter het Climate Justice Camp.
